What is a NorPine prefabricated cottage?
NorPine cottages have pre-assembled wall panels and pre-cut dimensional lumber along with all other materials required to get to lock-up. This allows the customer to get the cottage to a locked up and weather tight stage faster than conventional stick framing.

What's included in my package?
In short the packages included everything required to get your cottage to lock-up. More specifically, they include:
- 2x10 pre-cut floor system
- 2x6 panelized exterior walls (2x8 rake walls)
- 2x4 interior walls
- Engineered trusses or ridge beam & rafters as required
- Window & doors
- Vinyl siding or other exterior finish options
- Architectural composite shingles or other roof finish option
- Soffits, fascia, house wrap, fasteners, and all other miscellaneous materials required to get the cottage to lock-up
What will it cost to have my cottage delivered to my site?

Can we customize our cottage floor plan? We’d like to move a room around.
In terms of the plans/construction in the factory the answer is “no”. However, a General Contractor can offer simple on-site modifications to accommodate easy changes. Customers should speak to their General Contractor directly for this. For example, some floor plans have very few or no interior load bearing walls allowing for easy wall movement-reconfiguration.
What snow load are NorPine cottages designed for?
The cottages are designed for an 89 GSL. This is more than adequate for most build locations in Western Canada. We require that the customer inform us if they need a higher than usual snow load. To find out the snow load is in your build area please ask your local building authority and let us know.
I would like log siding on my new cottage. Do I need to stain and/or treat it?
Yes. NorPine log siding is no different than any other exterior wood finish product and needs to be treated. Call your NorPine representative at 1-888-296-8059 for more information on available products for this.
What is your log siding made from?
Our NorPine log siding is made from pine wood and is planed down from a 2x8 board.
Are pre-fabricated cottage packages the same as modular?
No. NorPine pre-fabricated cottages come with pre-built wall panels. These panels are then erected onsite.
Are there other finishing options available?
Yes. NorPine offers several very appealing finishing options such as:

Are interior finishing options available?
While NorPine Products does not directly supply interior finishing options, your NorPine representative can offer you solutions for finishing your NorPine cabin or cottage.
I’m concerned about the environment. How is my NorPine cottage 'green' or 'sustainable'?
NorPine pre-fabricated cottages are built using state-of-the-art computer assisted equipment. This results in approximately 55% less lumber waste and 60% less sheathing waste than the average “stick built” package. Please see our Build Green section for more details.
